Continued Extreme Heat

Good morning Thursday, This seems like a very long week so far-some weeks are like that.

I checked the 10 day weather forecast this morning the high humidity and close to 100 F continues for the next several days-Looks like September cooler weather will show up middle of next week sometime. The heat wouldn't be quite so bad if not for the continued high humidity here.

I still have had hummingbirds with travelers stopping by too over the last several days so I was back up to a couple dozen. This morning so far I just have a few hummingbirds-so more have traveled on  At the woods house, which is just a hour away, the hummingbirds pretty much travel on first week in September. Here at the lake I have had lots of hummingbirds further into September . I will miss them.

For next year I will buy another pole for four more feeders-I had lots of orioles that stayed and had youngsters this year too. I had to stop feeding seed in the fall and winter months do to ---too many squirrels at destroying the feeders and eating all the seeds-ugh. There are soooo many squirrels and chipmunks here at the lake. At the woods house they pretty much stayed out in the woods. Smiles

I finally got a full night's sleep last night. I asked for an extra nurse visit yesterday which was very helpful. I was asked to reconsider talking with a social worker-again-so I decided to let her come out on Monday. She may have some sources to help me process all this-which I think I am doing ok with, but since we have no family to help she may have ideas. I no longer feel comfortable leaving the house for errands now.

My friends that help us-and live an hour away near our woods property came out yesterday to start cleaning up the mess from the tree trimmers-I chose poorly on that tree trimmer-very bad choice on my part. The scary part is he left one of the worst dead trees-it is split and dead-and would not be good to fall on our house-our guys are trying to figure out how to get it down safely.

I met them up in town to rent a wood chipper for the day. They got all the limbs mulched so I have big piles of that now. They will be back to cut all the wood into firewood-I said they could have it for their families that heat with woodstoves or sell it.  So they will be back for that soon. I do miss heating with wood-we had the best woodstoves there at the woods house.  There is a wood stove here at the lake house but she had a major chimney fire so that would need a new insert. I do not think I am strong enough right now either to carry the wood-I do love heat from a woodstove on chilly fall days and winter. This wood stove here has a flat top so I could cook on it too-which is nice in the winter. A big pot of chili is the best.

I needed to wash a few pillows. I was washing the last two this morning-and one of those really blew up and was messing with  my washing machine-so won't be doing that again with that pillow which I have two of. Now to figure out how to get all the water out. I washed 4 pillows and this is the only one that did that.

I do puzzles on jigsaw planet to give my mind something different to think about-mostly snoopy and the peanuts crew haha I am doing fall themed now I was going to share one but site not letting me copy and paste.

Found this photo online Snoopy usually has me smiling

We really need rain here too-everything is getting super dry.

 Do enjoy your upcoming weekend.

Extreme Heat Continues

   Good morning,

Thought I would do a quick post. The humidity and close to 100 F degrees actual temperatures continue. With the feels like temperatures we are in the 100's for sure.

Things are getting worse for my husband. He suffers sooo much. The congestive heart failure-which his percentage of heart function being very very low now-is effecting his mental thinking-last night I was able to talk him out of it.  Caregiving is getting more difficult-the amount of suffering he is going through is a lot. Being stuck in a bed not being able to move around much is getting to his body too. We never know what  God will test us on.

No comments needed-just wanted to pop in this morning. and of course Google still has Not fixed the blog roll issue-so I don't know when you have a new post listed.  I am not online all that much lately, but I do enjoy reading your posts.

This week the hummingbirds began their migration. I had so many for awhile as travelers came through and stayed for a bit. Yesterday and this morning I have noticed many of the regulars have started their migration now. I will miss them-they always make me smile.

Civil War Meditative Scroll Finished

I finished up my scroll this morning. I am very happy with it.

I had some strips of the reproduction fabrics left over that were used in the scroll, so I used it for now to tie. I may stitch up the sides at one point.

I had purchased two of these awesome vintage bobbins on Etsy when I was setting up my scrolls to stitch.

I will come back with better photos-you know my camera is pretty awful I will share more photos soon-once I figure out the lighting

You  may also remember the gifted bird that my friend surprised me with-I love it! I think it is perfect for this scroll too as I think it fits the time period-civil war era 1800's

Click photos to enlarge for better viewing

I really enjoyed slow stitching his project very much-and my America 250 scroll is ready to stitch next. Found it very relaxing-which I need these days (taking care of husband)

I moved my scroll to another location in the living room so I can enjoy seeing it. I changed up the ties for this too, which I like better.  I tore a few strips so not as wide and then put several strips together, tied a knot on each end to hold the strips together. Loosely tied on the scroll to keep in place.

I am in love with the vintage textile bobbins I found to use for this project. These were a special find-I ended up buying a second one for the next scroll. I have a few wooden sewing thread bobbins ready to work out a design for as well.

I also wanted to share the fiber artist that has inspired me-I think I have shared her videos in the past.

Have any of you noticed this one? Just started today-Sunday.

Comments are Working

My friend sent me a message that comments are working again--tested it out and they are working for me as well   Perhaps someone at Google finally did a bit of fixing the issue since it was more wide spread this time.  Thankful

Comments Not Publishing-Again

Good morning, I was reading on Linda's post that she is having issues with comments not publishing.

I had this issue for a long time even went through several new blogs-so don't do that as it doesn't help and then you lose your main blog

I haven't had this issue for awhile-this morning it's back-visited Linda-won't publish-and visited Erika's blog-won't publish and just tried to comment on Cathy's blog-nope no comments are publishing for me.

Back when I was going through this daily for weeks at a time I searched around online for this issue-the conclusion I found is that Google no longer supports or fixes anything on this platform-which is sad.

So that's why I am not commenting today.

Sounds like from a friend that emailed me, this issue is effecting many more people than in the past this time. Would be nice if Google would let us know what is going on.

I have an email form on my  blog-if anyone wants to stay connected with emails if this all goes down or just keeps getting worse. I am on Instagram where I will post more too if our blogs stop working. I will check to see if I have a link on my page or not.  I keep Facebook mostly for an author group I follow, and since I haven't used cell phones friends message me there instead of calling me on the house phone. I will Not be texting that's for sure. haha

If you are on Instagram and will be using it send me an email from the form on my page to the link to your page   thanks everyone My blog keeps me connected with people so would like to stay in touch in some way  thank you

Seeing End of Scroll This Morning

I apologize again for the poor photo. Soon I guess I will see if I can figure out how to use Larry's cell phone and take photos that way

I should be able to finish the stitches within the next few days. To finish the scroll I will stitch a blanket stitch around the outer edges and then add to one of my vintage bobbins.   Then soon start on my patriotic scroll.

This has been a blessing for me-stitching without a lot of thought right now and accomplishing something in the end.

For me I did a brave thing-Larry is just too ill now to make decisions-he can but it would be an argument-We have numerous dead trees here along with huge ones that need trimming. We have gone through some major wind storms with nothing dropping yet-but last night I decided it was time.

I browsed on Facebook Marketplace and found someone that looked good he is about an hour away and has numerous good reviews . My neighbor is here now too and he has two large trees to cut down as well.  I didn't even discuss this with Larry-mentally I needed to take charge and do this.

So hoping it works out well.  Smiles.  This is expensive but I am hoping he will make a bargain do to the huge job here. If it works out one less stress thing to worry about going into storms and winter.

He sent me a photo of his setup as I was concerned the area he needs to drive down is between two steep hills-the area closest to the house is a concern but only way to get down there.

We have a friend that would do it but he would be using a very very heavy truck and he is not bonded or insured so that was a concern if something went wrong

Wish me luck

We continue to be in this very very hot and humid cycle. Once this ends hoping we get back to more normal weather. Along with some rain too.

I have many more hummingbirds still as I think some traveling through are sticking around a bit do to the high temps-They are such a joy to watch. I have always loved them
