What a stressful morning! I have been working on managing my stress level-doing good for the most part-but that order with Lowes really really messed me up.
I did a post on my Facebook page about it all-mostly to not go crazy around Larry. One of our very good friends near the woods property called me on the phone early this morning and says-"You know when I was just there visiting Larry I said what ever you need call me." Me-I know but you are an hour's drive away, have a very busy business, and you are raising your two grandsons-so don't want to bother you. Nonsense what do you need? So he found a washing machine for half the price I was getting from Lowes-simple not fancy at all. I think it is pretty close to what I had here already.
These things always take more time than you think-and he did mess up the folding doors when he put those back on. I told him I don't care about that-the doors can just stay open you installed a washing machine that's all I care about.
So of course I have a mountain of laundry to do-will take a whole day just to get through all the bedding. and the electric here in the house needs a major upgrade so I need to watch what I have running. I only wash or dry not both at the same time to not overload the electric. Something Larry did not get to before his fall.
I have felt guilty after we moved here-Larry said there was soooo much upgrade work needing to be done in the house-but I loved the location and the Views-we have a fantastic lake view that most do not have. So it is what it is. This is a very rural area compared to most of the lake, homes being on top of each other, the other county has higher taxes and much more commercial as well
I am so disappointed with Lowes. I talked with them on and off for 3 hours yesterday. This morning I called early and talked with someone that had the notes from the delivery people. He wrote and showed a photo that said the opening on top was 24 inches so that is why he would not bring down the washer and dryer and stove. I knew that was wrong so I measured it and was 32 inches wide on top. The right size to have brought those 3 items down. So this morning I needed to talk to Lowes about a full refund. The first one said we don't give refunds-I said your delivery service refused to bring three items down. I told her my situation at home and needed the washing machine-so she gives me to another department that handles refunds. I went through it all with her-she understood what was going on-and said the computer says no refunds but I will get my manager and fix that. She called backed two hours later and issued me my full refund for all items. I thanked her for helping me.
One needs to stand up for one's self more often these days.
So I have started the big job of doing laundry, I did hand wash one load and hung on my wooden drying rack out the front door. Will save all the bedding til tomorrow.
I think next month I will ask my friend if he can help me with the stove-I would really like a good working stove for winter. The oven here is iffy and this stove is just really old.
I am working on how to get the old washing machine moved to a nearby recycle dump.
I was thinking over the weekend I need to call the doctor and his nurse and see if they can come out and check on Larry this week instead of waiting for next week. In my inbox I got a message from them can they come out Tuesday-I said yes please you must have been reading my mind.
So doctor is setting up home health-I don't know how to help him wash up in bed or in a chair effectively He didn't want a nurse to come and doctor says it will help Kathy out-ok that's fine then. I love our new doctor very much. Now we are watching for pneumonia not to settle in. Larry has congestive heart-that has gotten much worse over the last few weeks.
I will see if I can get some photos we have lots of hummingbird youngsters now at the feeders along with oriole youngsters too and the woodpeckers love the nectar too-so fun to watch them out my kitchen window.
Happy mid-week
